Bollywood! EBW September Challenge!

Inspired by the cheerfully bright colors of the Indian Sari fabrics, the beautiful patterns of Mehndi (henna tatoos), and the intricately decorative sparkle of Bollywood jewelry, this cuff bracelet just might make you want to dance!

I'm a huge fan of "So You Think You Can Dance" and just love to watch the Bollywood dance routines.  The music, costumes and jewelry creates such happy abandon.  I wanted my challenge entry to evoke that bright happiness.

"Bollywood Sun" is crafted by me expressly for the Etsy Beadweavers September Challenge theme of Bollywood. I've applied 28 sweet little shell beads of various shapes in orange, yellow and pink, and then surrounded them with bead embroidery using seed beads in gold, opaque orange rainbow and silver-lined gold. The embroidery is done on a stiff felt backing and then is finished with a tapestry backing for comfort on the wrist. Little czech glass flowers and round beads provide decorative accents, and the cuff is finished with a peyote toggle and loop for easy closure.

Please visit the EBW blog http://etsy-beadweavers.blogspot.com between September 9th and 15th, choose your favorite challenge piece and vote for it.
